Carrie Elkin
Saturday 4 October 2008 7:00 PM
A troubadour in the most classic fashion, Elkin has ridden a Gypsy breeze of serendipity for the last ten years, landing for
a time in Cleveland, Athens, Taos, Steamboat Springs, Colorado Springs and Boston, finally coming to settle in Austin, TX
in the summer of 2007.
"What a wonderful album this is. I’m thinking Patti Griffin, Nanci Griffith
and Iris DeMent. It’s spellbinding, from the opening track to ‘Gospel Song’
at the end, this is a real treat! ‘Questions about Angels’ made the hairs on
the back of my neck stand on end."

Stryngs
Saturday 18 October 2008 7:00 PM
"The centrepiece of every Stryngs song is the vocal, and here we have the most unique aspect of the band. The vocalist and lyricist (whose name is Strings. Note the subtly different spelling) writes the sort of lyrics that shouldn't be singable. There are too many syllables, the lines don't obey any regular meter and there are far too many long words. Half the songs read like prose on the page, and yet when you hear Strings' soft, intimate, chocolate delivery it all makes sense." "What makes this album so good is the marriage between music and words, between lyrics, melody and harmony. This is the sign of songwriters and musicians at the top of their game ..."

Scott Beck
Saturday 29 November 2008 7:00 PM
"One of Sedona, Arizona’s natural wonders – singer, songwriter and recording artist Scott Beck – has been performing in house concerts, for spiritual conferences and workshops, and for New Thought church services throughout the southwest for the past five years.
The combination of his sweet, soothing vocals, melodic guitar, and thought-provoking lyrics resonate deeply within the heart and soul of his listeners, sometimes caressing them gently to comfort and heal, and other times lifting their vibration to a higher level with inspiring and empowering messages."

Jakob Martin
Saturday 28 February 2009 7:00 PM
If you enjoy thoughtless pop music, Jakob Martin is not for you. Currently one of the fastest growing underground artists on the West Coast, Martin is best known for his raw musical style and lyrical mastery.
Martin engages audiences with music, poetry, humor, and personal stories from his two years touring the United States, where he has performed over 500 concerts.
In a time of dramatic change in the world, Jakob Martin’s work is relevant, stimulating, edgy, witty, and emotionally stirring, and is unlike anything you will get anywhere else.

Simeon Flick, The Troubadour.
