Crosby Tyler
Saturday March 13th 2010 7:00 PM
A naturally gregarious character, Crosby Tyler involves his audience from the moment he sets foot on stage, inviting them into the neighborhood he lives in, sharing his enthusiasm for Big Bill Broonzy and Leadbelly, getting them to sing along to songs about cotton and other crops, and mixing the light-hearted with the sincerely and movingly personal.
A storyteller (in his own words, a balladeer), his songs in the style of old folk blues artists regales with hard times, car hopping and running from the law. With guitar and harmonica and a splendid well-worn voice Tyler buzzes on the feedback from the crowd.

James Hurley
Saturday April 10th 2010 7:00 PM
Described by one fan as "Sting meets the Beatles, Clapton makes the introductions"! James writes songs that have the sophistication of jazz, the immediacy of blues, the imagery of film, and the intimacy of a lover held close. With a smooth, passionate voice and tastefully understated guitar playing (called "jazz-like virtuosity" by minor 7th Magazine) he leads the listener through tales of whimsy and romance, celebrations of life lived, and stories of love, and love lost. With wry humor and unflinching honesty, he follows his own muse and invites the listener to come along for the ride.

Jakob Martin
Saturday April 17th 2010 7:00 PM
If you enjoy thoughtless pop music, Jakob Martin is not for you. Currently one of the fastest growing underground artists on the West Coast, Martin is best known for his raw musical style and lyrical mastery.
Martin engages audiences with music, poetry, humor, and personal stories from his two years touring the United States, where he has performed over 500 concerts.
In a time of dramatic change in the world, Jakob Martin’s work is relevant, stimulating, edgy, witty, and emotionally stirring, and is unlike anything you will get anywhere else.
"Like Bob Dylan, Jakob Martin is a heritage artist who skillfully inhabits both the musical and literary worlds..."
Simeon Flick, The Troubadour.

Amanda Pearcy & Louis "Cowboy" Johnson
Saturday April 24th 2010 7:00 PM
“It smacks of authenticity and a bit of road weary living. Something that should resonate with most of us in these times when the road of life is anything but smooth.” Dan Alloway, “Folk Fury” - KTEP-FM, El Paso, TX
"Amanda is musically somewhere between Emmylou Harris and Dolly Parton to my ears. Her mood is all Emmylou, but her voice has some Dolly in it. If Lisa Hannigan was raised in the South, not in Ireland, she'd probably sound like Amanda. ...Amanda obviously knows country music, and plays it straight, but the stories lean toward the outlaw category...a solid performer and songwriter..." - Tyler John Arnold, MohawkRadio.com

C. Daniel Boling
Saturday October 23rd 2010 7:00 PM
“Daniel’s guitar playing is excellent, his vocals are awesome and the subject matter for his songs is diverse yet there is a common thread of family ties, humor and just down right good story telling. I honestly think it is one of the best Folk recordings I have heard.” - Jesse Thurgood (Singer/Songwriter, Provo, UT - Kerrville Folk Festival NewFolk Songwriter Finalist 2001)
A round stamp on the cover of Boling's CD says that he was the first-place songwriter at the 2007 Woody Guthrie Folk Festival. Boling is a good reason for local folks to pay more attention to who's in their backyard. -- DAVID STEINBERG
