    Anna Laube
    Saturday November 15th 2008 7:00 PM
Her pan-genre (country/blues/Americana/indie) folk music comes straight from the heart and has been described as "Acoustic, atmospheric, wide open, and western. Dirt covered highways and the setting sun" (CDReviews.com).
Anna's first album, "Outta My Head," was recorded in Bay Area living rooms with some fine players and has been receiving airplay in the US, Canada, and overseas (having been picked up by stations in the UK, Germany, France, Denmark, The Netherlands, Italy, Australia, and New Zealand).

    Kristopher Rein
    Saturday 8 November 2008 7:00 PM
Kristopher began studying sitar and learning Bengali with Ira DasGupta, who was trained at Bengal Music College of the Bhatkande Gharana. Recently, he has had the opportunity to study with world renown 7th geneartion sitartist of the Etawah Gharana, Ustad Shahid Parvez. He continues to study with Ustadji, as he is affectionately known by his students. Tabla accompanimient Daniel Hirtz.

    James Hurley
    Saturday 1 November 2008 7:00 PM
"Described by one fan as "Sting meets the Beatles, Clapton makes the introductions"! James writes songs that have the sophistication of jazz, the immediacy of blues, the imagery of film, and the intimacy of a lover held close. With a smooth, passionate voice and tastefully understated guitar playing (called "jazz-like virtuosity" by minor 7th Magazine) he leads the listener through tales of whimsy and romance, celebrations of life lived, and stories of love, and love lost. With wry humor and unflinching honesty, he follows his own muse and invites the listener to come along for the ride.

    Fran Snyder
    Saturday 25 October 2008 7:00 PM
"Once in a while you discover an artist whose music connects with you in a lasting way. Fran Snyder's music is like a phone call from a far away friend - warming, fun, enlightening, and refreshing. It's like the way you feel when you reconnect with someone you didn't even know you missed."

    Stryngs
    Saturday 18 October 2008 7:00 PM
"The centrepiece of every Stryngs song is the vocal, and here we have the most unique aspect of the band. The vocalist and lyricist (whose name is Strings. Note the subtly different spelling) writes the sort of lyrics that shouldn't be singable. There are too many syllables, the lines don't obey any regular meter and there are far too many long words. Half the songs read like prose on the page, and yet when you hear Strings' soft, intimate, chocolate delivery it all makes sense."
"What makes this album so good is the marriage between music and words, between lyrics, melody and harmony. This is the sign of songwriters and musicians at the top of their game ..."

    Carrie Elkin
    Saturday 4 October 2008 7:00 PM
A troubadour in the most classic fashion, Elkin has ridden a Gypsy breeze of serendipity for the last ten years, landing for a time in Cleveland, Athens, Taos, Steamboat Springs, Colorado Springs and Boston, finally coming to settle in Austin, TX in the summer of 2007.
"What a wonderful album this is. I’m thinking Patti Griffin, Nanci Griffith and Iris DeMent. It’s spellbinding, from the opening track to ‘Gospel Song’ at the end, this is a real treat! ‘Questions about Angels’ made the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end."

    Aaron Jacobson
    Saturday 27 September 2008 7:00 PM
Inspired by the spiritual progressive movement and troubled by the direction of the nation's international role, Jacobson reaches deeply into the soul and mystery of existence. At times tragic in tone, occasionally ironic in his delivery; this emerging songwriter will leave you with a sense of transcendence and other-worldliness...truly uncommon fare.

    Brian Chartrand
    Sunday 21 September 2008 7:00 PM
Phoenix, Arizona based artist Brian Chartrand has been busy! This prolific singer/songwriter has released three albums in 2008: his latest solo-acoustic effort, "Sleeping With Giants," “the Show Low sessions” by his rootsy trio Ten Dollar Outfit, and “Laurel & Sunset” by RGB, the trans-continental, harmony-driven collaboration between Brian, Rich Price, and Greg Naughton.

    Amber Gaia
    Saturday 9 August 2008 7:00 PM
"If passion had a voice, it would sound like Amber Gaia. Ranging from the dulcet tones of the soul's first longing to the poignant strength of hurricane force. Her music flows through her effortlessly to the audience, wrapping them in a soft, warm blanket of light and love. Listening to this woman sing is a celestial event of the heart not unlike the birth of distant stars; her music delights the listener!"

    Al Dawson
    Friday 1 August 2008 7:00 PM
A native of the Midwest, Al has been around music all his life. He recorded his first record at the age of three (“How Much Is That Doggy In The Window”) and despite short periods of inactivity has been at it ever since. During his career he has performed as a singer, guitarist and drummer with The Cryan’ Shames, The Boston Tea Party, Aorta, Platte River Crossing, Cotton, Possum River and Otis & The Elevators. He has recorded rock, jazz, blues, bluegrass and folk, in fact pretty much everything except opera.
Al continues to write and perform and his sound has mellowed with age. His repertoire also includes the songs of many great writers including songs written with long time friend and collaborator, John Seay. His new CD “Against The Grain” features beautifully crafted acoustic guitar and wonderful vocals from an old time rocker who, as Steve Earle states, “still plays and sings like an avenging angel”.
