    Jakob Martin
    Saturday August 29th 2009 7:00 PM
If you enjoy thoughtless pop music, Jakob Martin is not for you. Currently one of the fastest growing underground artists on the West Coast, Martin is best known for his raw musical style and lyrical mastery. Martin engages audiences with music, poetry, humor, and personal stories from his two years touring the United States, where he has performed over 500 concerts. In a time of dramatic change in the world, Jakob Martin’s work is relevant, stimulating, edgy, witty, and emotionally stirring, and is unlike anything you will get anywhere else.
"Like Bob Dylan, Jakob Martin is a heritage artist who skillfully inhabits both the musical and literary worlds..." Simeon Flick, The Troubadour.

“Daniel’s guitar playing is excellent, his vocals are awesome and the subject matter for his songs is diverse yet there is a common thread of family ties, humor and just down right good story telling. I honestly think it is one of the best Folk recordings I have heard.” - Jesse Thurgood (Singer/Songwriter, Provo, UT - Kerrville Folk Festival NewFolk Songwriter Finalist 2001)
A round stamp on the cover of Boling's CD says that he was the first-place songwriter at the 2007 Woody Guthrie Folk Festival. Boling is a good reason for local folks to pay more attention to who's in their backyard. -- DAVID STEINBERG
